Dear Visitor,
Welcome to the website of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kuwait.
Kuwait and the Netherlands have a longstanding and excellent relationship that goes back to the 16th century when the Dutch Trading Company was sailing in the Gulf region.
Netherlands and Kuwait alike are small countries in an important political and economic region. The Netherlands is member of the European Union and has harbors at one of the busiest seas in the world, the North Sea. Kuwait is situated in the very important maritime Gulf area, and is part of the GCC.
If I say ‘countries’ I actually mean ‘people’, because cooperation between countries is done by people and it is therefore important to know each other’s traditions, customs and interests. One of my tasks is to guide the exchange of information between my country the Netherlands (also called Holland) and Kuwait.
It is for me a great pleasure to offer you information about Holland and the services this Embassy can provide to you. If you have any suggestions or questions that are not answered in our Frequently Asked Questions or elsewhere at this website, please feel free to contact me or my staff at the Embassy.
Ton Boon von Ochssée
Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherland
